Concept Attainment Model


The Concept Attainment Model (CAM) is an instructional strategy designed to help students learn by identifying and classifying key concepts through guided inquiry and example analysis. In science education, this model can be especially effective for helping students understand abstract scientific concepts or principles, such as "force," "energy," or "photosynthesis," by examining both examples (positive instances) and non-examples (negative instances).

Experiment in the Lab

 One of the most rewarding experiences during my B.Ed. internship was conducting a small science experiment with students in the school laboratory. However it was done under the guidance of school science teacher. As a future educator, I always believed that the best way to make science exciting and relatable for students is by giving them the opportunity to engage directly with the subject. The experiment conducted were the finding the solution whether it is acidic, basic or neutral. The main aspect of this experiment was preparing the solution which was to be inspected, with the help of lab assistant the solutions were prepared. The students were first given the instructions on how to perform the experiment; how to use the pH paper and using the scale based on the colour change to determine whether the solution is acidic, basic or neutral. Discrepant Event

 Science is all about curiosity, exploration, and discovering the unknown. It is through creative and engaging experiments that we often find the most profound lessons.I had the privilege of co-organizing a Discrepant Event Science Experiment Exhibition at our college, an event designed to showcase the fun and exciting side of scientific phenomena. Being a co-organizer meant I had the responsibility of ensuring everything ran smoothly, from preparation to execution. It was a thrilling challenge, but seeing the event come together was truly rewarding.The experiments we selected were based on the principle of discrepant events , which involve showing an unexpected or surprising result that sparks curiosity and deeper inquiry. These experiments usually defy expectations, helping participants understand the science behind the surprising outcomes.
